Timing Your AppointmentList Item 1
If you have upcoming vacations or special events in your calendar, we recommend scheduling your appointment at least 30 days before or after the event for optimal results.
-
Blood ThinnersList Item 2
Please refrain from taking any blood-thinning medications, including Advil or Ibuprofen, for a minimum of 48 hours before your appointment. These over-the-counter drugs can naturally thin your blood and may lead to increased bleeding during the procedure.
-
Avoid Alcohol and CaffeineList Item 3
Do not consume alcohol or caffeine within 12 hours before your appointment. Caffeine acts as a natural blood thinner, and alcohol can affect your skin's sensitivity. Stick to water and ensure you've had a light meal to feel your best during the procedure.
-
Accutane UsageList Item 4
If you've taken prescription Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one full year (12 months minimum) before considering the permanent makeup procedure.
-
Sun and Tanning Exposure
Avoid sun and tanning bed exposure 30 days both before and after your appointment. Fresh tans or sunburns can lead to pigment loss and hinder the healing process. Rescheduling may be necessary in such cases.
-
Preparation for Healing
Purchase a fragrance-free baby wash or facial cleanser for sensitive skin to cleanse your brows during the healing process. I will provide you with aftercare ointment (Aquaphor).
-
Eyebrow Grooming
You're welcome to come to your appointment with your eyebrows filled in as usual, so we can consider your preferred shape. If you typically get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded, or tinted, please do so a week before your appointment.
Healing Process & Aftercare
The healing process and aftercare are crucial for achieving the best results from your permanent makeup. Here's what to expect:
- After the first session, your brows may appear darker and more defined for up to two weeks.
- Around day 4-5, you may experience flaking and dryness. Avoid picking at your brows to prevent patchiness and scarring.
- Itchiness may persist for up to 2 months due to dermal layer healing.
- Healing times vary but typically take 7-14 days.
- Once healed, brows will lighten by 30-40% and slightly shrink in size.
- Two sessions are typically required for optimal results. The second session is recommended 6 weeks to 6 months after the initial one.
Aftercare Expectations:
To ensure the longevity and quality of your micropigmentation, follow these aftercare instructions:
- Avoid sweaty activities for 2 weeks, as sweat contains salt that can affect the tattoo.
- Stay out of the sun for 2 weeks and use SPF after the first 10 days.
- Refrain from swimming in various water types, avoid direct water on your brows, and skip saunas and steam for 2 weeks.
- Don't sleep face down for 2 weeks.
- Do not use your everyday makeup, lotions, or facewash on the brow area.
- Do not scratch the treated area until brows are fully healed.
- Apply ointment as directed.
- Remember to book your touch-up appointments as needed to maintain the results.
Please keep in mind that individual results may vary based on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to pre-care and after-care instructions. Your commitment to these guidelines will contribute to the best possible final outcome.
